Bald fashion is hot in the US

13/10/2015

There was great news this week that Skalp™ Micro Pigmentation has conquered America. The brand new state of the art clinic has opened in New York.

There is no doubt that as well as being a super-cool solution for hair loss, the shaven head look is much more than a UK phenomenon. Bald fashion for guys could almost be said to have originated in the heart of the US. Hollywood celebrities, pop stars, business gurus and TV hotshots are making the news now just as much as for their new sexy bald pates as the work they are doing.

In honour of the American bald guy we have constructed a top ten of those A-listers who are in millionaire’s row, the headlines, the charts, US baseball fields and award ceremonies:

3yanks

Michael Jordan

Jordon is probably one of the most well-known and successful basketball players in America. After helping the Chicago bulls to win championships on numerous occasions, he has now retired but remains a highly sought-after celebrity.

Derek Jeter

What Jordon gave to Basketball, Derek Jeter has given to baseball.  A five-time World Series champion, Jeter is regarded as a central figure of the Yankees’ success of the late 1990s and early 2000s for his hitting, base-running, fielding, and leadership.

Lebron James

Another great Basketball player who is currently wowing sporting audiences, James has been ranked by Forbes as one of the world’s most influential athletes throughout his career.

Vin Diesel

This guy needs no introduction. He is perhaps best known for his distinctive bald appearance and the tough characters he plays in his films. He is best known for his portrayals of Dominic Toretto in The Fast and the Furious film series and Richard B. Riddick in The Chronicles of Riddick trilogy.

Samuel Jackson

Samuel is an evergreen superstar who has been with us on the silver screen since the 1990’s. He now produces films as well but achieved prominence and critical acclaim in the early 1990s with films such as Jungle Fever, Patriot Games, Amos & Andrew and True Romance.

James Carville

Not known here in the UK, James Carville is a highly respected US political commentator and media personality in the US. Carville gained national attention for his work as the lead strategist of the successful presidential campaign of then-Arkansas governor Bill Clinton

Tom Coliccio

Yes, they love their food over in America just as much as we do, and to prove it one of the biggest celebrities in the US (who just happens to be bald as well) is Mr Coliccio. Tom is an American celebrity chef and co-founded the Gramercy Tavern in New York City, and formerly served as a co-owner and as the executive chef.

Seth Godin

Capitalism at its best – Seth Godin is a best-selling author, entrepreneur marketer and public speaker. Seth is easily recognised by his cool bald head and snazzy way-out spectacles.

Kelly slater

Back to sport and Kelly is an American professional celebrity surfer. He has been crowned ASP World Tour Champion a record 11 times, including 5 consecutive titles in 1994–98. We think that shaven head gives him extra streamlining on the waves!

James Jannard

Now if a designer decides to go shaven head you know that look has got real style. Massive in the US, James is an American designer and businessman, and founder of Oakley, Inc., an eyewear and apparel company.
