Britain’s Got Transplants

George Sampson has revealed his hair transplants results! It is estimated that as many as 1 in 10 people in the UK suffer with hair loss and baldness. That’s a staggeringly large number if you didn’t realise! To put it into some kind of perspective, this equates to approximately 7 million people – very nearly the entire population of London (which is around 8.5 million)!

Hair loss does not discriminate based on gender, race or even age after a certain point. Everybody is susceptible to a receding hairline and lots of people that simply refuse to take it lying down. Why should they if they don’t want to?

There are many treatments available, depending on the type of hair loss and the reason for it – although it is very often purely down to genetics for which there is no true cure.

Two of the most popular treatments are hair transplants and scalp micropigmentation (sometimes called a head tattoo). Both can be very effective with the much more expensive option, hair transplants, making the news more and more.

Celebrity baldness

Britain’s Got Talent star George Sampson appeared on daytime TV, on the This Morning show, to talk about his hair loss and the inspiration behind getting it treated. He cited footballer Wayne Rooney as being the inspirational driving force behind his decision, and at just 23 years of age it must have been a big one to make.

Frankly, he results do not look great. Also, the procedure is prohibitively expensive for most people – young George reportedly paid over £9k for his treatment and he didn’t require too much in the way of coverage. Wayne Rooney himself is said to have paid in excess of £15k for his treatment.

Again, Wayne looks great with his new hair but that kind of treatment is extremely expensive and out of reach for the majority of us. There is an alternative, and one that is just as effective without meaning that you have to remortgage your home.

Confidence booster

While there is nothing wrong with thinning hair or baldness,  equally nothing wrong with wanting to do something about it. Even a relatively small thing like a hairline tattoo can do wonders for self image and confidence.
