How to write a reasoned essay
If you still find it difficult to imagine how to write a good reasoned essay, i.e. one that will surely impress the reader and deserve a high assessment, then let's first figure out what kind of text it is.
- This is the text in which you will need to express your opinion on the stated issue
- This is the text in which you will need to back up your opinion with facts.
- This is a text in which you will also have to provide your opposite point of view.
Now you see that there are specific requirements for a reasoned essay. Here are our step-by-step guidelines for writing really strong work:
Read the topic very carefully or choose your own
If you have been given a specific topic, then please read it very carefully in order to understand as accurately as possible what you need to write about as an expert essay writer. If you can choose any topic you like, then pick the one that really interests you, pick the topic that really captivates you. When an essay does not show the author's enthusiasm, then it is boring to read it. Even if you are not interested in this topic, so how can it hook the reader?
Think over the arguments "for" and "against" in your topic and choose one of the sides
Once you've chosen a topic that suits you, it's time to jot down a list of pros and cons. Each question has two sides, i.e. now all you have to do is decide whether you are for or against. In your work, you will need to highlight the arguments of both sides, but do not forget that when reading the essay, it should be clear which side you support.
In a reasoned essay, you will also have to touch on the point of view of your opponents, other essay writers. Make sure your arguments are strong enough to defeat those of your opponents. When you skillfully explain why the arguments in favor of your point of view are more reasonable than the arguments on the other side, then your position becomes even more convincing.
