What is Scalp Micropigmentation?
Scalp Micropigmentation is a medical hairline tattoo and is the ultimate in non-surgical male and female scalp grooming. Natural pigments are applied at the epidermal level of the scalp to replicate the natural appearance of real hair follicles or strands combating hair loss and creating fashionable styles.
How long does the process take?
The treatment is carried out by trained practitioners who match your hair color to the tattoo pigment. On average, you will need three sessions over 2-3 months and each session will take two to three hours.
Who chooses what the final style will look like?
Your Skalp® practitioner will work with you to guide you through creating the most effective style to complement your face shape, skin color, and hair follicle color.
What if I decide to change my style in the future?
Most of the clients at Skalp are happy with the final result after treatment, but it may be the case that as you grow older, you may want your Micropigmentation style to reflect your age or new styles. Laser treatment can be used to allow more flexibility in the future.
Where is my nearest clinic?

Is it painful?
Everyone has different pain thresholds – what is painful to one person is a pin-prick to another. However, all of our clients tend to give the same feedback – that it is not painful at all. You aware of the needle entering the scalp at the beginning of treatment, but you get used to it very quickly.
How will I know how I will look after treatment?
We are aware of how big this leap can seem at first, so we have created a system whereby you can see what you are likely to look like before you have the treatment. All you need to do is send a head and shoulders picture of yourself with a shaven head, and we will return one with a mock-up after the treatment.
What special care do I need after treatment?
Once the treatment is finished – that is it. But our practitioners are always on hand, or at the end of the phone re advice after looking after your shaven head and new style. Some clients return to us now and again for a top-up.
Will my friends and family notice?
Yes. It is highly likely that the people around you will notice a change in your appearance. However, because the whole treatment takes place over a period of 2 – 3 months, changes are insidious. They are more likely to be confused as to what the actual change in your appearance is!
